How to Play Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe is fast, simple, and fun. Here is the short version.

The Goal

Get three in a row: horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

Taking Turns

X goes first, then players alternate.
Click or tap an empty square to place your mark.
Once placed, a mark cannot be moved.

Winning and Drawing

The first player to make a line of three wins.
If all nine squares fill without a line of three, it is a draw.

Quick Tips

Try to control the center early.
Watch for two-in-a-row and block before it becomes three.
Set up a fork when possible (two winning threats at once).

Game Options

Choose Human vs Human, Human vs Computer, or Computer vs Computer.
Add player names if you want them shown in the status panel.
Pick a theme and mark style from the Theme button.
